I want you to know the influence you have had on me

Question:

Jeff,

I want to take the time to let you know of the influence you have had on me. You have helped give me strength, hope, and wisdom. You have aided in giving me a chance at saving my marriage. Through your desire to share the word, and to do so in a straightforward manner has made an everlasting difference for me. I have now been through the darkest hour of my life and leaned upon the Lord's word to come out of it. My ability to learn His word, dig deeper, and develop wisdom was done a lot through the La Vista Church of Christ website. The articles that you wrote, the questions you answered, and the sermons you have shared were all a tremendous help.

I am currently deployed and it is hard to find godly influences here. I am thankful for the Lord's willingness to show me paths for help. I have now used your sermon outlines and delivered two lessons here. I used your sermon on Love outline and your Lord's Supper outline. The congregation here is small but fervent. Everyone knows of my situation and has been helpful, encouraging, and strengthened me. I am blessed that they have taken the opportunity to work with me in the worship service as it helps my development and keeps my mind focused where it should be.

Thank you again for your example and I would love the opportunity to continue to learn from you. I would like to learn to share the word in such a simple, helpful and scripturally backed manner as you have done.

Answer:

I really appreciate the kind words. It is nice to know the efforts are being passed on. "You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also" (II Timothy 2:1-2). Knowing that the efforts here are being put to use in people's lives makes the work a joy.
