I think I need to stop sinning, get baptized, and follow Jesus

Question:

I appreciate what you have written, and I agree with you. Honestly, I'm a Catholic, but I don't practice a lot of things that Catholics do. I consider myself a Christian because in my heart I have to follow the Lord Jesus Christ and his teaching. Of course, I've not always been successful.  I've been restless for years regarding where to go and how to walking the path of righteousness. I have done a lot of sinful acts, and I know I have to change. I said to myself I will never change my religion, but if my religion never changes me, what is the sense? I'm thinking of getting baptized and try not to sin. If it's God's will, it will be.

Inside of me there something telling that the end of the age is near. All the signs are everywhere.

Your website helps me a lot and answers a lot of questions I need to know.

Answer:

I'm glad you found this site useful in your studies and growth. I'm also glad you recognize that you need to truly follow Christ, not just in your claims but in your actions as well. "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'" (Matthew 7:21-23).

If you will let me know what city you are near, I will try to find a church nearby that you can visit.
