I really appreciate the way you explain your reasoning

Question:

I recently found your web site. I really appreciate the way you explained your reasons for worshiping the way you do. It is quite to the point. I am a member of the church of Christ and agree with your reasons to worship in such a way, but reading how you wrote it made it easier for me to think about how to explain it to others. It is difficult to explain in a way that doesn't sound eccentric to people so accustomed to the way denominations handle worship. I am disappointed if they don't agree with me after they have really thought about it, but even worse usually, people think it is wrong to not provide social activities and opportunities to the community or have other added things to the worship before they give it another thought. We don't have instrumental music either. But we teach and try to study and learn Scripture and try to teach it to others. If they want pancakes they can come to our homes for that. I think you did a good job of explaining the importance of obedience to the instruction of Scripture in a way that would make people more interested to know more.

I have really appreciated the illustrations you have. That has helped me so much in my Bible class teaching the last few weeks since I found your site. It is nice to find scriptural and appropriate illustrations to use. We even use illustrations like that to make their little attendance 'stickers' so everything has to do with the lesson. Thank you for taking the time to put those online.

I look forward to reading more of the study notes you have on this site as well. Thank you for all the work you do. I hope that many people find your site and write to you with questions and study with you. I hope one day we can do something like this web site too. I looked up our own name on the Internet to see what if our elders had set up a site and found another congregation that I didn't know existed by the same name and they do appear to be very denominational. As a matter of fact, their site flashes several different pictures of tempting looking breakfast foods. Almost says, "we have the best food around, and when we are full and have had lots of fun maybe we will have time to do a sermon or something...." That isn't us. We teach what you do on the web site - at least what I have read so far from what you have written. It is so nice to know that we have brethren all over the country

Answer:

Thank you for your kind note. It is nice to know the work is helpful to others. I think I visited your congregation once, but it was about 25 or 30 years ago.
