I don’t know what to believe anymore

Question:

I do not know what to believe anymore. I have been a Christian all my life. My prayers have never been answered. The Westboro Church calls themselves true Christians and you say that you are a true follower, but your beliefs go against theirs, so who's right? My mind cannot handle this stress of me going to hell or God coming and me not being good enough. Maybe you're the last person who can help me. I think I'm going to commit suicide. Either way I'm sure it doesn't matter. Sorry for taking your time.

Answer:

The answer has always been that God is right. "Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: "That You may be justified in Your words, and may overcome when You are judged" " (Romans 3:4). The reason I give biblical references with my answers is so that you can see for yourself what God says about matters.

There is no stress. God has always said there would be false teachers and that Christians are to watch out for them. "But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed" (II Peter 2:1-2). People don't define truth; it exists for people to find. "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth" (John 17:17). When you see conflicting teaching, you know that at least one of them is wrong. Thus, you put them to the test. "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (I John 4:1). Compare what is being said to what God has said, and then follow God.
