How can I express my anger in a way that is healthy and in a way God would want us to?

Question:

Hello,

I would like to wish you a very happy New Year. This year, I want to focus even more on becoming a better Christian and learning what God requires of us.

My question is in regards to anger. Sometimes, like all humans, I get angry in life. The causes for the anger vary between many things. Sometimes I may get a little bit angry or annoyed, and other times I can get very angry, depending on the situation. As Mister Rogers said, it can get pretty scary when someone gets angry. So, my question is: How can I express my anger in a way that is healthy and in a way God would want us to?

Thank you!

Answer:

There is a myth that emotions have to be "let out" to get over them. But what God teaches is that our emotions need to be controlled. "Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls" (Proverbs 25:28).

The real question is not how to express your anger, but what you decide to get angry about. I would like you to read the following:

Response:

Hello,

Thank you very much for those links. They were very helpful.

I will try my best to control myself and not get angry over things that shouldn't be, as I have learned that anger and hate only affect myself negatively and ultimately do not solve the problem.

Thank you!
