How can I be 100% sure?

Question:

I am starting to build more faith but I am still not 100% sure that God exists.  I go to church and everything and I feel terrible to admit this.  How can I be 100% sure?  Are you 100% sure?  Will I ever get there?  I'm just scared that I never will be able to believe 100% without a doubt that He exists. What should I do?

Answer:

You aren't looking for faith, you seem to want to see it for yourself. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is what you trust is true even though you don't have 100% proof that it is true. Evolutionists believe the world gradually evolved. It is a faith on their part because they can't go back in time and show that it happened that way. Even though there is plenty of evidence that evolution cannot be true, they prefer to trust this concept than to recognize the evidence of a designed world. So if you are sure that God exists, then how do you explain how the world came into being -- an explanation that ought to cover the evidence of a designed world?

In a courtroom, the jury hears evidence about the case and must decide what happened without having personally being there. They come to a conclusion of what must have happened and in doing so show faith in their conclusion. And here we want them to be 100% sure when they convict someone of a crime.

Consider the Bible. We know it is old. We have copies that date back several 100 years before Christ. How is it that the prophecies always came to pass? Take a look at:

I've been at this for a long while. The deeper I dig, the more I find that cannot be explained without acknowledging that God exists and that the Bible is the record of God's interactions with mankind.

If you want greater faith, then you need to study more. "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17).

Response:

Wow, I just read this because I got busy with work. Thank you so much! I have been reading the Bible more and I really do feel my faith is building. Thank you so much again and God bless!
