Did Jesus die to remove God’s wrath against sin?

Question:

Good day,

Is there Scripture that says God's wrath was removed for sin after Jesus died on the cross?

Answer:

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life" (Romans 5:8-10).

The wrath that Paul was discussing was not present-day wrath but a look to the future judgment. "But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who will render to each person according to his deeds" (Romans 2:5-6). Jesus' death on the cross allows people to be saved from their sins and by that forgiveness they no longer need to face the certainty of punishment for their sins.
