Can you tell me your source for your opening statement in “Social Drinking”?

Question:

I'm an addictions counselor. Having recently read your article "Social Drinking," (Dudley Ross Spears), I have a question: How did you come up (substantiation for) with your opening statement: "We live in a world where social drinking is accepted by over two-thirds of our entire population"?

Answer:

One of the sources I used when writing several articles on drug abuse was Charles R. Carroll's book, Drugs in Modern Society, Second Edition, William C. Brown Publisher, Dubuque, Iowa, 1989. Especially on page 106. The book was a standard textbook at Western Kentucky University when my daughter was a student there. I don't know if the book is yet in print. You might check Amazon or just Google to find it.

Hope this helps,

Dudley Ross Spears
