What can we pray to remove a curse?

Question:

Dear sir,

I am in my mid-30s and I am unmarried. My two older siblings are also unmarried. I am working but my siblings have no jobs. We live with our uncles, aunts, and their children.

Recently, my dad died of a heart attack. One of his brothers died from COVID last year and another brother died from an accident. We are still in shock from my dad's sudden death. He seemed absolutely fine. He was always praying, reading the Bible, and was very active in the church. He was a holy, good, and blessed man. Before he died, he saw the cross and Jesus. When he opened the Bible he saw everything was a red color. I asked my spiritual teacher and she said he is in heaven in eternal rest.

Another uncle is currently in ICU. My extended family are superstitious. They decided to go to Baba and ask why the deaths are happening.

My immediate family and I don't believe in these things. We only believe in Jesus. Even though we lost my father, we will never follow another god.

We are suffering because we are unmarried and lack work. Now that my dad is gone, how are we going to survive? Staying in this house is difficult. They have customs such as putting floor on the floor for three days to see if a soul comes to give some sign. A soul could be in the form of a cat or a baby. They did this for my dad three days after his death. We knew there would be no signs in the flour because my dad was a religious Christian man. We don't believe this stuff as the rest of the family does, but we also can't stop them from doing these things.

Now, what curse is on us? Why is there one death after another and we are suffering? We are always praying.

We can't leave this house and we don't want to be involved in their stupid superstitions. We will only worship our God, Jesus. We feel very helpless.

Please pray for me and our family and save us from any curse. What should we pray to remove this curse and allow us to have a blessed life? There are many promises that God gave us that we need. Please pray.

Answer:

A fact of life is that there will be death. "And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment" (Hebrews 9:27). Your father and his brothers had reached the age where such deaths are more likely to happen.

Your siblings need to find work to do. "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone will not work, neither let him eat'" (II Thessalonians 3:10). Even if the only jobs they can find involve doing things they don't enjoy, some work is better than sitting around not working. If there are no jobs in your area, then move to where employees are needed or they can start their own business. If all three of you are working, then you will be able to afford your own place to live.

While your relatives are superstitious, you are acting the same way. There are no ritual prayers to be said to get your life to change. You talk to God about your problems and ask for His aid while you work on your problems. You put your trust in God, even when life is difficult and you don't have all the answers. The hardships are not due to someone placing a curse on your family. Life is filled with good times and bad. You are facing some bad times right now, but those just need to be endured.
