Reaching the Youth

by Terry Partain

Forty-five years ago I was hired to work with another preacher to especially reach out to the youth. I was too late. The youth and their parents had separate social lives. The practice of catering to groups according to their age has destroyed the bonds of affection and understanding as well as communication between the young and their elders. This is supposed to be normal. It is not. It is tragic. Our young are expected to learn from their peers. I am sorry, but most of their peers are not well equipped to guide them. They are vulnerable, gullible, and easily deceived. The wolves attack them first. We are the only hope they have.
