Memory Verse Cards
We started implementing monthly themes at La Vista, where a card is distributed with a memory verse, and the subject is divided into four weekly subpoints. While the lessons on Sunday and Wednesday don't always match the current month's theme, several do, and it is nice to have something to aim for when you can't come up with an idea for a lesson or a short talk.
Some memory verses are short and straightforward, while others are longer and more challenging. The "trick" to memorizing verses is understanding the flow of ideas. Don't try to learn a sequence of words, as you will likely forget a key point.
Phillip Shumake, a fellow preacher, inspired the idea. Each link is to a PDF that can be printed one-sided on 8.5 x 11-inch cardstock. After being trimmed to 5.5 x 7.5 inches, two cards can be created.
