How to Study the Bible

An In-Depth Study of the Book of Galatians

Assignment Eight

Galatians 1:6-10 sets the tone for the book. Use the cross-reference in your favorite Bible, a concordance, or a Bible dictionary to locate other verses that address the same topic. Write each passage down the left-hand side of a piece of paper. Besides each verse, write a short summary about the verse. As you work through the verses, you will find some closely match the topic at hand while others have little to do with it. Cross out the verses that are unrelated to the topic you are researching.

For each verse you look up that is closely related to the topic, look up the cross-references for this verse and add it to your list. Eventually you will run out of cross-references.

Review your list and select the most relevant verses. Write the locations into the margin of your Bible at Galatians 1:6-10

Look through Galatians and make a list of the verses that you find difficult to understand.
