Here, after leaving Rahab’s house in Jericho, the spies spent three days hiding in the hills waiting to see if the searchers would find them. That is three days of worry and heightened senses, always on the lookout.<\/p>\n
Three days of tension and uncertainty come up over and over again in scripture. Jonah spent, what must have been, three very long days in the dark in the belly of the great fish. Esther and her young ladies spent three days fasting to prepare to entreat the king. Abraham spent three days journeying with Isaac to offer him as a sacrifice. And the greatest example is that of the disciples who spent three days, often in hiding, with broken dreams and shaken faith while Jesus was in the tomb.<\/p>\n
Three days feel like an eternity when you are on the run, in hiding, facing your possible death, or struggling with a broken faith. But three days is also a very short time for God to work great things and change everything. What feels like an eternity to us is only a moment for God. Wait. Wait for the Lord. Give Him time.
