Are we humans superior to angels?

Answer:

It appears that the Corinthians were taking their personal disputes before government courts (I Corinthians 6:1-6). He had just stated earlier that Christians had no jurisdiction over non-believers (I Corinthians 5:12-13), but they were required to judge believers. Thus, their settling disputes in civil courts shows that they were failing in this requirement as well.

Christians are quite capable of making judgments between brethren. After all, Paul points out that Christians will be called upon to judge the world (Psalms 149:5-9; Matthew 19:28; Luke 22:30; Jude 14-15) and angels in the end. Compared to these, settling disputes between Christians is a minor thing.

Does this mean we are superior to angels? Not at all. When Jesus came to this world, he was made a little lower than the angels (Hebrews 2:7,9).

How can we judge those greater than ourselves? When Christians are judged righteous before God on the Judgment Day, they prove that it was possible to follow God’s commands. Noah condemned the world by entering the ark. “By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith” (Hebrews 11:7). His obedience proved that the rest of the world was without excuse. The Christian’s obedience despite being in the physical world and subject to temptations will condemn the angels who fell (II Peter 2:4). The angels had advantages, yet they still rebelled. Humans were disadvantaged and some managed to remain faithful.

Question: Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
