Once we admit that the creation and life did not form themselves, which is obvious and undeniable science and fact, we have to follow the rest of the testimony given in Genesis that there is nothing too hard for the Lord. Controlling a flood, sealing an ark, and preserving animals in the ark are easy. Giving Abram and Sarai the strength to have a child in later years is easy. It does not raise any doubt that the rest of the Old Testament is testimony to moments of intervention by the Creator as He works His providential care to bring us the Savior-Redeemer (Jesus), to demonstrate Himself, and to give us the blessings to reverse the curses brought into this world by sin and death. In fact, it is the only thing that makes sense.

Our outlook is either “there is nothing too hard for the Lord,” or we are here by accident, and there is nothing too hard for time and chance. I believe there is nothing too hard for the Lord who has revealed Himself in His creation, in the development of Israel, in His revelations to Israel in the Old Testament, in His demonstration in Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and in His prophetic words that amazingly came true in every case without fail. I do not have enough faith to believe that time and chance can produce the miracle of the universe, the miracle of life, and the miracle of conscience and intelligence.

by Terry Wane Benton Genesis shows the Lord creating and organizing the entire universe and all manner of life.
