A naturally introverted person might learn to act extroverted in professional settings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Moderating factors<\/strong>: Emotional regulation, cognitive control, and social learning can weaken or strengthen the link between temperament and conduct.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>What are some common temperaments between men and women?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Personality psychology suggests that men and women share many common temperamental traits, though their expression can vary. These are some widely observed temperaments that both genders often exhibit:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sociability<\/li>\n<li>Emotional Reactivity<\/li>\n<li>Adaptability<\/li>\n<li>Activity Level<\/li>\n<li>Persistence<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>How we react in these temperaments makes or breaks acceptable godly conduct.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>First, let&#8217;s examine what is considered godly conduct. Godly conduct refers to behavior aligned with virtues such as:<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Humility<\/li>\n<li>Patience<\/li>\n<li>Self-control<\/li>\n<li>Kindness<\/li>\n<li>Integrity<\/li>\n<li>Love &amp; forgiveness<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Temperament is neutral by itself &#8211; it&#8217;s how we manage it that determines whether conduct is godly or ungodly. For example:<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"144\"><strong>Temperament Trait<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"246\"><strong>Potential Godly Expression<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"234\"><strong>Potential Ungodly Expression<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"144\">Impulsivity<\/td>\n<td width=\"246\">Quick to help, generous, enthusiastic in service.<\/td>\n<td width=\"234\">Rash decisions, anger outbursts, lack of self-control.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"144\">Patience<\/td>\n<td width=\"246\">Endurance in trials, calm under pressure.<\/td>\n<td width=\"234\">Passive avoidance, enabling wrongdoing.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"144\">Assertiveness<\/td>\n<td width=\"246\">Courage to speak truth, defend justice.<\/td>\n<td width=\"234\">Pride, domination, harshness.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"144\">Emotional Reactivity<\/td>\n<td width=\"246\">Compassion, empathy, and deep care for others.<\/td>\n<td width=\"234\">Overreaction, bitterness, grudges.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"144\">Sociability<\/td>\n<td width=\"246\">Fellowship, hospitality, building community.<\/td>\n<td width=\"234\">Gossip, seeking approval over truth.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Makes<\/strong>: When temperament is submitted to moral and spiritual principles, it becomes a strength (e.g., assertiveness used for justice).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Breaks<\/strong>: When temperament is unchecked or self-centered, it leads to ungodly behavior (e.g., impulsivity leading to sin).<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>So, how do we transform temperament into godly conduct that is pleasing to the Father?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>First<\/strong>, we must be honest about and recognize our temperament.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 Corinthians 13:5; Romans 12:3; Psalm 139:23-24 &#8211; Awareness is the first step to transformation<\/li>\n<li>John 18:10 &#8211; Peter was naturally impulsive. Recognizing this helped him later become bold for Christ in Acts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Second<\/strong>, we must pray for guidance and surrender our natural tendencies to God &#8211; &#8220;How would God want me to express or react to this or that?&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Luke 9:23-25 &#8211; We all experienced a repentance that led to a conversion into Christianity. How does our belief in the grace of God and His higher expectations for our lives shape us into the Christian He has called us to be?<\/li>\n<li>Romans 12:1-2 &#8211; Present body as a living sacrifice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Third<\/strong>, we must apply biblical virtues to our temperament<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"168\"><strong>Temperament<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"222\"><strong>Godly Transformation<\/strong>\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"234\"><strong>Biblical Example<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"168\">Impulsivity<\/td>\n<td width=\"222\">Self-control, wisdom<\/td>\n<td width=\"234\">Peter learns restraint (Acts 4:13)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"168\">Assertiveness<\/td>\n<td width=\"222\">Courage with humility<\/td>\n<td width=\"234\">Paul speaks truth boldly yet lovingly (Eph. 4:15)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"168\">Emotional Reactivity<\/td>\n<td width=\"222\">Compassion, forgiveness<\/td>\n<td width=\"234\">Joseph forgives his brothers (Gen. 50:20)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"168\">Patience<\/td>\n<td width=\"222\">Endurance in trials<\/td>\n<td width=\"234\">Job remains faithful despite suffering (Job 1:21)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fourth<\/strong>, we must be courageous about guarding against ungodly expressions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proverbs 4:23; 2 Timothy 1:7; Psalm 141:3-5 &#8211; What &#8216;triggers&#8217; you? &#8211; Learn them vs. simply react to them and set boundaries.<\/li>\n<li>Proverbs 16:32 &#8211; &#8220;Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Finally<\/strong>, we must seek out accountability partnerships &#8211; mentors, faith leaders, and truly devoted friends who will tell you when you&#8217;re behaving ungodly &#8211; and own your new and improved godly temperament!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proverbs 13:20; 1 Corinthians 15:33 &#8211; Mind the company you keep and surround yourself with good and godly people.<\/li>\n<li>Acts 11:23-24 &#8211; Barnabas encouraged Paul and others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Personal Temperament-to-Godly Conduct Action Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1: Identify Your Temperament<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Which traits describe you most?
