The question, from a biblical viewpoint, is inaccurate because the church is the people, not a place or a building. The Greek word\u00a0<em>ekklesia<\/em>, which is translated as &#8220;church&#8221; in English, means the called out. It refers to the fact that Christians are called out of the world. &#8220;<em>But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light<\/em>&#8221; (I Peter 2:9).
