I am a member of a church of Christ. My spouse wants to divorce me. He is not a member, though. He wants to divorce, but not for any biblical reasoning. In the past, I found him messaging other women, taking inappropriate pictures, and even having condoms that were still in their packages. I spoke with the elders, and they said that yes, he lusts and sins, but I’m not sure if that’s a biblical reason for the divorce. The divorce is going to happen regardless. I can’t just keep him here.<\/p>\n
Also, in my weakness and vulnerability, I recently had an encounter with someone. We did not have sex, but he did touch me inappropriately. I repented and stopped communicating with him.<\/p>\n
Am I now an adulteress? Will I be able to get remarried again? What do I do at this point?<\/p>\n\t
You don’t have to catch your husband having intercourse with another woman to conclude that he has been committing adultery. The evidence that you have found strongly suggests that he has been seeing other women. You could hire a private detective to gather stronger evidence.<\/p>\n
That you were unfaithful to your marriage vows is true. Fortunately, you did not remain unfaithful. I gather that he is not divorcing you because of this sin. He was already in the process of divorcing you, and he is doing so to be free to marry someone else.<\/p>\n
I would assume that you would be able to marry again based on what you have told me.<\/p>\n
