John describes Jesus as “the Almighty” (Revelation 1:8). Isaiah predicted the “child” who would be born and later called “Mighty God” (Isaiah 9:6-7). The Hebrew of the Old Testament refers to “El Shaddai” (God Almighty). The term emphasizes God’s ability to handle any situation that confronts God’s people.<\/p>\n
It is first used when God told Abraham, in his old age, that he would become the father of a great nation (Genesis 17:1-3). In other words, don’t doubt what God says. What seems impossible to you is possible when God is involved and He has promised something.<\/p>\n
John, the writer of Revelation, was employed by the Almighty to show visions of coming hardships through which the faithful will need to trust God by knowing Him as “the Almighty.”<\/p>\n
Together, the Almighty and I can handle whatever has been in the past, whatever is in the present, and whatever we must face together in the future. It is no longer a matter of whether I can deal with something. It is a question of whether the Almighty and I can handle this together!
