I know that I could become a preacher’s wife. I want to be a good virtuous wife because I have, well, kind of seeing a preacher. I want to do the right things in God eyes and not my eyes. I don’t want to mess it up. I have been praying and seeking God’s permission. I just want to make sure that He gives me a sign before anything becomes in vain. I just want to do the right things.<\/p>\n\t

“For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God<\/em>” (I Corinthians 1:21-24).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Reading your question reminded me of the above verse. Paul’s point is that some people (the Jews in this case) won’t do or believe anything without a sign from God. But God doesn’t deal with men in that fashion. Yes, He used signs to confirm his message (Hebrews 2:3-4), but now that it is recorded, he expects people to follow His word. To sit around waiting for some vague idea of a hint from God before doing something with your life is to deny the power of God’s message. “As His divine power\u00a0has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him<\/strong>\u00a0who called us by glory and virtue<\/em>” (II Peter 1:3). If all things that we need to know that pertains to life has been given to us by God, then why demand something additional from God? Do what God has already told you and you will do well.<\/p>\n

The best way to learn what is needed to be a preacher’s wife is to go and talk with other preacher’s wives whom you see from their example have been successful. “The older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things– that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed<\/em>” (Titus 2:3-5).
