Human platitudes sound good, wholesome, and biblical except when examined by the Bible.\u00a0For example,<\/p>\n
“No one has the right to hear the gospel twice, while there remains someone who has not heard it once” (Oswald J. Smith).<\/p><\/blockquote>\nI appreciate the zeal and love for lost souls. However, does this quote match the actions of Jesus and his apostles? Did they only preach once and then leave? Why did Paul reason in the Synagogue multiple Sabbaths before heading elsewhere? Acts 18 is just one example.
\nThis devotional is not about who has the right to hear the gospel. My point is, are we trying to outdo God in our holiness?\nWhen we hear hypotheticals or platitudes instead of Scripture that contradict Scripture, which should we listen to?<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
