Paul said some were preaching “another Jesus” (II Corinthians 11:3-4). That was by picking the things they liked about the real Jesus, mixing in a few of their desires, avoiding the things they did not like about what the real Jesus said, and now we can talk about the Jesus we have invented.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, this is what has happened over the years that has caused the invention of all kinds of denominations. Each has its own version of “another Jesus.” But, unfortunately, too many brethren want a Jesus who does not mind social drinking, lascivious dance, lascivious and immodest clothing, or one who approves of us no matter how uninvolved and uncommitted our lives are to the common good and strength of His church.<\/p>\n
Love Him and the brethren little or much, you can get your ticket punched for another week of acceptance with Jesus as long as you take the communion.<\/p>\n
There is a danger of self-deception by just grabbing out of thin air what we want to believe about Jesus and His will for our lives. The Bible must be handled regularly, carefully, honestly, and completely committed to the King in all <\/b>that He says. Otherwise, we have simply bought into the common “pick your Jesus” mentality, and that <\/b>Jesus has no real power to save. The real Jesus came to save us from <\/b>sin, not to save us in<\/strong>\u00a0the sin of our choice. We must seek and find the right Jesus, the one revealed and confirmed by the Holy Spirit in the testimony of the New Testament!
