The general Senate of the Church of England, trying to satisfy both conservative and liberal wings, has decided that homosexual acts are not outright sin, but “fall short” of Christian ideals of marriage. The Lesbian and Gay Movement pushed for the Anglican Church Parliament to sanction permanent and monogamous homosexual relationships. The Archbishop of Canterbury, head of the church, admitted that homosexual acts are condemned in the Bible, but argued that the church should not condemn disciplined and responsible homosexuals. He warned the synod of the danger of driving homosexual clergy out of the church. A proposal to discipline such clergy was turned down. This according to Pulse<\/em>, the magazine of the Evangelical Missions of Information Service, Wheaton, Illinois.<\/p>\n “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God<\/em>” (I Corinthians 6:9-10). The RSV uses “homosexuals” in the place of “abusers of themselves with mankind.” What is Paul saying? He is saying that all who practice the aforementioned sins shall not inherit the kingdom of God.<\/p>\n But what the Anglican Parliament is saying is that practicing homosexuals in the clergy may continue to function in their church as ministers of the gospel! What disgusting hypocrisy! What a sham and travesty upon the inspired and eternal word of God!<\/p>\n But it was so in the days of Christ. God commanded the care of father and mother, but the Scribes and Pharisees circumvented the commandment of God by their tradition (Mark 7: 8-13). Did Jesus soft pedal such practices? Definitely not! He called them hypocrites who had made the word of God of none effect by their tradition. The Gay and Lesbian movement today is not too large in numbers but is extremely vocal. In contrast to the days when homosexuals were confined to the closet, today, they parade in the streets, protesting what they perceive to be discrimination against them by all segments of society.<\/p>\n Homosexuals don’t have to practice that sin any more than adulterers have to commit adultery or any more than robbers have to rob. If we would enter the kingdom of God, we must deny ourselves and take up the cross of Christ – submit to his will and word in all things. This means giving up practices or beliefs contrary to God’s word and living a pure, holy life before him. There is just no validity to the claim of homosexuals that they are born that way and cannot change. Everyone who wishes to go to Heaven must <\/b>change. That is what repentance is all about – a change of heart and mind followed by a change in behavior. If there is no change in behavior or practice, it is evident there has been no repentance in the heart.
