Often, we hear people lament the loss of a loved one. They are hurting and mourning the loss of those they hold dear, and they struggle with the question of why Christ would not take away the pain, suffering, and loss – especially when He had done so for others while He was on earth. There are two things to consider.<\/p>\n
Jesus’s physical healings were meant to demonstrate the reality of His ability to heal spiritually. He did not heal everyone while He was on earth, nor did those whom He did heal remain disease-free or live forever. Physical healing was never the ultimate goal; rather, He offered spiritual healing to everyone and the promise of eternal life. Perhaps we should ask, “Why do people turn to God to be saved physically but not to be saved eternally?”<\/p>\n
If they did seek Him for spiritual life, how do we expect Him to call His family home to their eternal reward without death? This life is not our rest. This earth is not our treasure. Death and disease help us see this reality, reminding us not to love the world or the things in it.<\/p>\n
Christ will save you if you will only come to Him. He will save you eternally and completely. He will call us out of this world to be with Him in paradise. Remember, He didn’t save the thief from the cross; He saved the thief on the cross.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
