I’m confused. I’m nearly 40 years old. I have known I was gay from the age of 14. I have never touched a woman but love to look at women in the nude and having sex with men. Does this make me bisexual even though I could never think of having sex with a woman? Or should I just kill myself now?<\/p>\n\t
It seems that the only point of confusion on your part is why God doesn’t agree with you that your views are right. “O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps<\/em>” (Jeremiah 10:25). The fact is that being a man, you have no authority or ability to determine what is right or wrong. The standards you use: “Everyone else is doing it” and “I like it” are very poor standards. Jesus stated that there is only one way to heaven, but many ways to hell (Matthew 7:13-14). Because most people are lazy and take the paths of least resistance, Jesus stated that most of the world’s population will end up in hell. Thus the fact that others are doing something doesn’t tell us whether it is right or wrong. I sure there are people who like committing murder, but personal desire doesn’t make a fit standard for right or wrong.<\/p>\n Let me turn your statement to another sin: “Why is it a sin to have sex outside of marriage? When you see other countries, this is a natural way of life.” Yet God is equally clear that sex outside of marriage is wrong. “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God<\/em>” (I Corinthians 6:9-10). Just like the young man who decides to have sex with his girlfriend, you had an equal choice in the matter in each of your sexual relationships. It wasn’t forced on you. You are not a robotic sex-machine. You are a human male who decided that sex with other males was fun. But you don’t want to own up to your choice — perhaps deep down you know it is wrong — therefore you look to blame something else for your choice.<\/p>\n Why would you want to kill yourself over your own choice? It won’t be an escape. It will only bring you before the judgment seat of God that much quicker. If you don’t want to serve God, then that is your choice. I can’t talk you out of it. But if you understand that you made some poor choices in the past, I can point you in the direction you need to go to be obedient to your Creator. But stop the silly tantrum that you expect God to save you in your particular sin because you like the sin and have no desire to change. By the way, there were homosexuals in Corinth and they changed. “And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God<\/em>” (I Corinthians 6:11).
