I have a question. I am talking with someone who has not been baptized but has a fear or phobia of being underwater. How could I biblically answer this?<\/p>\n

I know several people who fear being underwater, including my own mother. I’m not minimizing the fear, but understand that courage is not the lack of fear but the willingness to act despite your fears. The way to overcome any fear is to place our full trust in God (Psalms 61:1-4). God has not given us reason to fear but to be confident before him (II Timothy 1:7). Never let your fears hinder you from doing what is right.<\/p>\n
Let the person who is baptizing you know that you have a fear of being underwater. They will do what they can to help you work through your fear. Trust that no harm will come to you while doing God’s will.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
