How you feel about yourself is related to what you truly believe, but there is an underlying premise that determines the direction of thought, and that premise is crucial. If you do not firmly believe that you were made by the King of kings and Lord of lords, then you may believe that you are worthless junk that does not have any real worth.<\/p>\n
Without God, you are constantly looking for people who might value you. When someone mistreats or neglects to affirm your worth to them, you may start believing you are worthless. What you need to do is look for your real value. People do not set your value. The Creator sets your true value. He believed you were worth making. He believed you were more important than the earth itself; He believed you were worth dying for, and He longs for you to believe He is worth living for.<\/p>\n
Your self-talk is crucial. What do you really believe about your worth? Don’t answer that based on how misguided humans may or may not treat you. Base it upon what you truly believe about your origin, purpose, and destiny from the standpoint of the One Who made you. What do you truly believe? When you answer this correctly, your life truly matters, and if you serve God, your labor in life will not be in vain if it is lived in Christ to His glory (I Corinthians 15:58).
