Who is the Queen of the South?<\/p>\n\t
“The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here<\/em>” (Matthew 12:42).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
This is a reference to the Queen of Sheba who came to test Solomon’s wisdom. “Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to test him with hard questions<\/em>” (I Kings 10:1). Sheba is a country that lies south of Israel, located in the southwest corner of the Arabian Peninsula (the “heel” region).<\/p>\n
