“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace<\/em>” (Isaiah 9:6).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Jesus stated, “I and My Father are one<\/em>” (John 10:30). Therefore, titles, such as those given in Isaiah 9:6 apply to Jesus as well as God the Father. For the most part, we call Jesus the Son and God in Heaven the Father because of the roles they assumed, especially while Jesus was here on earth. “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me<\/em>” (John 6:38). “Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered<\/em>” (Hebrews 5:8).<\/p>\n
Yet it remains that Jesus, as God, created the world. “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made<\/em>” (John 1:3). As mankind’s Creator, Jesus is the Father of us all. Notice that Isaiah calls the Messiah both Son and Father.
