R. Nichol, page 74].<\/p>\n“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God<\/em>” (I Corinthians 6:9-10).<\/p>\n“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death<\/em>” (Revelation 21:8).<\/p><\/blockquote>\nGod is quite clear that people who are unrepentant of their sins will end up in hell — hell being the opposite of a heavenly reward. Why bother if a Christian cannot be lost?<\/p>\nThat people can receive salvation and then lose it by their own sins is clearly taught. “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame<\/em>” (Hebrew 6:4-6).<\/p>\nThe gentleman who answered your question did respond with the traditional hedge: When a person is stated to have been saved falls into sin, doubt is expressed as to whether the person was really saved in the first place. Of course, the description of the person who falls away in Hebrews 6:4-6 is clearly described as a saved person, but somehow this is ignored.<\/p>\n
