Whether you leave this man or marry him is up to you. What God requires is that you stop your sin. “But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion<\/em>” (I Corinthians 7:9). God is not like a man who holds a person’s past against him, even when he repents.<\/p>\n You claim that God would not approve of your marriage to this man; yet, God instructs those in the New Testament to marry rather than tempt themselves with sin. In the Old Testament, marriage was required when fornication took place unless the girl’s father objected to the man (Exodus 22:16-17; Deuteronomy 22:28-29).
