I have a question regarding a female friend. I have known this young lady for several years and at one time in college, we had a really special relationship. We occasionally talk, but our relationship has not been as strong since we came back from college (over 5 years ago). The only real-time she contacts me if she wants some exam materials that we both are preparing for and I go beyond the need to help her with this. After that, I don’t hear from her until she requires additional materials. I feel as though I am been taking advantage of and it really concerns me because I don’t request anything from her. She is not a Christian and I do want to help her as much as I can.<\/p>\n\t
The problem appears to be that you are expecting more from this relationship that she wants to give. She sees you as a source of information and is really not interested in anything else at the moment. You can keep the lines of communications open, but don’t expect anything more.<\/p>\n
Are you be used? Most definitely. But here is something to consider: “Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise. But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High.
