{"id":69144,"date":"2024-08-06T10:26:16","date_gmt":"2024-08-06T15:26:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lavistachurchofchrist.org\/cms\/?p=69144"},"modified":"2024-08-06T10:26:16","modified_gmt":"2024-08-06T15:26:16","slug":"negative-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lavistachurchofchrist.org\/cms\/negative-people\/","title":{"rendered":"Negative People"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p>by Zeke Flores<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, I see posts where someone may say that they&#8217;re &#8220;done&#8221; with negative people in their lives.\u00a0 I suppose they mean that they will avoid people they disagree with or are simply disagreeable. The problem is, that&#8217;s impossible. &#8220;Negative people&#8221; are all around us. What else would we expect in a broken world? As Paul mentioned in I Corinthians 5:9-10, to not have any interaction at all with sinful people, one would have to leave the planet. It&#8217;s still true. Like Texas mosquitos in summer, negative people are everywhere. Another problem is that it dilutes the purpose of Christianity. Being salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16) necessitates being in situations of negativity and darkness.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not saying that you should perpetuate an emotionally and spiritually draining association; I&#8217;m just suggesting that Christians consider our purpose more fully.
