I’m not everyone’s cup of tea, and I get that.<\/p>\n
As a preacher, my delivery is far from “polished,” and I often speak from the heart. God willing, it’ll be a heart full of His word, but it’s from the heart nonetheless. I love preaching, which motivates me to be a little “animated” in the pulpit. As a person, I’m somewhat introverted, and my humor can sometimes be misconstrued. Like I said, I’m not everyone’s cup of tea.<\/p>\n
Further, my appearance isn’t very appealing. I can put on a suit, but I’ll still be a short, chubby, balding guy whose excitement sometimes makes me talk too fast. Like Paul, people may say, “his personal presence is unimpressive and his speech contemptible<\/em>” (II Corinthians 10:10).<\/p>\n I suspect others like me feel wholly inadequate to preach such glorious news, but “woe is me if I don’t preach the gospel<\/em>” (I Corinthians\u00a0 9:16). There will always be those who can find something wrong with me as a preacher; I’ll be the first to admit I’ve got many faults, but I hope they find something right, too.<\/p>\n “Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost sinner, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life<\/em>” (I Timothy 1:16).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" by Zeke Flores I’m not everyone’s cup of tea, and I get that.
