One problem with sin, and there are many, is that it promises a freedom it can never deliver. Sin paints submission to God as a form of bondage that hinders us, traps us, and keeps us down. In reality, it’s the false promise of independence from God that is the harsh slavery. Hard-hearted rebellion feeds the illusion of freedom, which is really God allowing each one of us to choose our ultimate end. Which will it be? Freedom from <\/b>sin or “freedom” to <\/b>sin? Choose your master carefully (Romans 6:16-18).<\/p>\n “Therefore this is what the LORD says: you have not obeyed me; you have not proclaimed freedom to your own people. So I now proclaim ‘freedom’ for you, declares the LORD — ‘freedom’ to fall by the sword, plague, and famine.
