My husband and I have recently separated. He lives in a different spot. It’s been hard for me to decide whether or not I should stand for my marriage or just file for divorce.<\/p>\n
There was infidelity on my part 7 years ago, and I had carried the guilt with me for a long time until I finally asked God to forgive me. When I did tell my husband, he was hurt, but he said he forgave me. That was 4 years ago, but about 6 months ago, he told me he wanted to separate because he wanted to do his own thing and that he didn’t see me as his girl. The only time we talked about divorce was when I brought it up, saying if he wanted that, he would have to pay and file it, and I would agree to sign. I didn’t want to beg him to stay with me as he already told me multiple times he didn’t have any feelings for me anymore.<\/p>\n
Now that he’s gone, I’m unsure where it leaves us. He didn’t say he would file, and I’m sure because it doesn’t affect his day-to-day life, he would rather spend that money on other things. However, I’m not sure if I should just file. I’ve been praying about it, and I’m waiting for God to tell me to move with the next step, but I also don’t want to be in disobedience.<\/p>\n
I’ve been seeking counsel from my Christian friends, and they all tell me to wait a few months since it’s still fresh.<\/p>\n\t
There is no reason for divorce. There was past infidelity, but that was forgiven. It seems both of you have gotten complacent about your marriage. Neither of you are honoring your vows and working at maintaining a healthy relationship.<\/p>\n
