However, the statement goes on to say that this keeping is “through faith.” So, God’s power to keep us is through this channel of connection. We can cut off this channel or connection by developing “an evil heart of unbelief and departing from the living God” (Hebrews 3:12). Cut off the supply channel, and there is no power supply to flow into our hearts to keep us. That tool keeps blowing by the power of electricity. But the blower will no longer work if we cut off the electric power to keep the battery renewed. It runs out of energy and ceases to blow. It is essential to keep the energy source connected to the battery, the channel through which the blower is kept working, or else the power doesn’t renew the battery. In this case, a power supply is not being used, and the blower becomes useless.

The word of God is the most powerful source of energy (Hebrews 4:12). The gospel is “the power of God” to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). If you disconnect the faith from the power source, your internal battery slowly depletes energy until it stops you from working in the kingdom.
