The Bible says that voluntary humility, severity to the body, acts of contrition, and such like may be nothing more than evidence of &#8220;will worship;&#8221; that is, serving one&#8217;s own interests (see Colossians 2:18-23). Furthermore, Jesus said that &#8220;<em>not everyone who says unto me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven<\/em>&#8221; (Matthew 7:21). The\u00a0<i>only<\/i>\u00a0people who will enter into the joy of God&#8217;s reward are those who keep His commandments.<\/p>\n<p>Even so, it is hard to convince people that it is God&#8217;s will that must be obeyed rather than man&#8217;s (especially our own personal will). When this church points out <i>what God said<\/i> about a matter, many protests are received. Things are fine so long as the matter doesn&#8217;t cause the person to change his personal habits or convictions. It doesn&#8217;t matter to these people what God has to say about it. Some react as if saying, &#8220;Who does God think he is?&#8221; Well, to put it simply: He is God! It is His will that ought to be preeminent. Only the rebellious turn against His teaching.
