{"id":60020,"date":"2023-03-19T16:20:09","date_gmt":"2023-03-19T21:20:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lavistachurchofchrist.org\/cms\/?p=60020"},"modified":"2024-08-27T10:38:56","modified_gmt":"2024-08-27T15:38:56","slug":"thanks-for-the-article-lies-pornography-tells-men","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lavistachurchofchrist.org\/cms\/thanks-for-the-article-lies-pornography-tells-men\/","title":{"rendered":"Thanks for the article &#8220;Lies Pornography Tells Men&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<h2>Question:<\/h2>\n<p>Thank you for taking the time to write the article titled &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lavistachurchofchrist.org\/cms\/lies-pornography-tells-men\/\">Lies Pornography Tells Men<\/a>.&#8221; \u00a0I have been open quite often (maybe even too much, thinking transparency will help me) about an ongoing struggle with pornography since my late teens (I&#8217;m now in my late fifties).\u00a0 Any of the ramifications that God puts forth in His word, I have probably encountered, and probably the worst has been the minimization of porn being a sin and everything surrounding it, just like your article brings to light.<\/p>\n<p>I had one year of sobriety from porn not long ago and looking to get back there.\u00a0 Unfortunately, my marriage is challenging because there is limited sex.\u00a0 What I am trying to do is work to address my propensity for pornography that happened long before my current marriage and not blame my wife and her limited desire for sex.\u00a0 She has her own stuff to work through.<\/p>\n<p>Again, much thanks for your devotion to this topic and for reinforcing a bit of what I have learned, yet saying it in a way that resonates with my thinking.\u00a0 I truly appreciate this work here.\u00a0 Bits and pieces of truth, interactions, and increased focus on God&#8217;s word will be the only way to be free from pornography I feel.<\/p>\n\t<h2>Answer:<\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;m glad the information helped.
