I know everything we are to do for God and for our fellow man has to be done willingly and with love. Is it wrong to be obedient because you are growing in a command (forgiving) and do not really want to do it?<\/p>\n\t
What if I reverse your question? Is it acceptable to disobey God because we don’t really want to do as He commands?<\/p>\n
Disobedience is wrong. “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them<\/em>” (Ephesians 5:6-7).<\/p>\n Jesus stated: “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions<\/em>” (Matthew 6:14-15). I may not like forgiving someone, but I want to please God and I know my salvation depends on forgiving others; therefore, I will forgive and continue to work on my attitude.
