Do we sin on the Sundays we do not give?

For example, from my understanding, we are to give as we prosper, so if I only get paid twice a month, don’t I only give on the Sunday following when I got paid? I got paid on a Thursday, I give that Sunday. and if don’t receive another paycheck until two weeks later, I don’t give until that following Sunday from when I got paid?

Am I suppose to still give every Sunday since giving is an act of worship? Am I understanding this correctly?

Answer:

“Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so do you also. On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come” (I Corinthians 16:1-2).

“For if the readiness is present, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have” (II Corinthians 8:12).

The collection is to be taken up each first day of the week. Each Christian is to give a portion in accordance with how he has prospered. Thus, if someone is not making much, little is expected from him by God. If someone is not making anything, he would not be expected to contribute. What God is more interested in is that there is a heart ready to give if he was able to do so.

Some brethren, knowing what they expect to make during the month, split up their contribution into weekly portions to give. Others, especially those with variable income, give a portion after receiving income. Either way is acceptable.

Question: Since giving is an act of worship. Do we sin on the Sundays we do not give?
