I have a close relative who is in an illegal relationship. He was married, but he knew that the marriage was already broken. He was trying to fix the situation when he realized there was no more love in his heart for his wife. He then reunited with a long-time friend via social media. After a while, they both started realizing they had feelings for each other. They were in different countries. The story is long, but he separated from his wife, and after a while, they got together in this country. The wife applied for a divorce, but it has not yet happened. She demands money that they do not have as of now. They want to get married, and they love each other. She is condemned constantly, even after she has repented of the situation. She has asked the Lord for forgiveness, but she feels she is not forgiven. They have a baby girl from their relationship. They are waiting for some money to pay for what the lady wants. They are both Christians and love God, even knowing they are in disobedience.<\/p>\n
Do you think that God has forgiven them? What can you counsel them?\u00a0 They are very close to me. I suffer seeing her and him in this situation.<\/p>\n

Let’s take out the romantic terms. The man left his wife to commit adultery with another woman. Because of this, he has no right to another marriage because he is the adulterer. “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery<\/em>” (Luke 16:18). Until his first wife dies, he is bound by his covenant. Because what he is doing is adultery, he remains guilty of this sin until he repents. Repent means to change your attitude toward sin and change your behavior. He believes his adultery is right and he doesn’t plan on ending his illicit relationship. There is no forgiveness when a person refuses to repent of his sin. “I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish<\/em>” (Luke 13:3).<\/p>\n She remains in adultery as long as she is with him.
