Bragwell, Sr.

If “it feels right then go with it” is the prevailing philosophy of too many in our time. Along with this, we are told by “experts” that it is unhealthy to suppress one’s feelings. Folks are encouraged to let it all out. The idea of exercising self-control and discretion to conform to an objective standard of conduct is a joke to more and more folks. Furthermore, society must grant and defend everyone’s right to go with it – whatever “it” happens to be. The results: chaos is fast taking over what was once known as the “civilized world.”

We only have to look around to see this philosophy at work. If sexual relations feel right to an unmarried couple, they go with it. If an “affair” feels right for a married person, he/she goes for it. If it feels right to divorce and remarry how ever so many times and for whatever reason, then they go with it.

If by some quirk of nature one’s physical gender does not feel right, then he or she is encouraged to go with their feeling. If one is attracted to one of the same gender, one goes for it. Not only do they go for it, they insist on public recognition and accommodation of their feeling.

We are sometimes asked, “How can a thing so ‘natural’ be wrong?” That is the problem. Many have gotten so far away from God that the unnatural seems to be natural to them. The apostle Paul wrote of the world in his day:

“For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.” (Romans 1:26-27).

by Edward O.
