My old boyfriend got into an affair with a married woman (with children). They have been pronouncing their love for each other for several years now, and they just got married this last weekend. During this time, I have been dealing with such deep anger toward the people who condone this. His family, her family, my friends, the community — they fall at their feet and say it’s so genuine, sincere, and real love. I know she still belongs to her husband, I know the destruction they are creating goes far beyond our knowledge, and I try to argue my stand with Scripture, but no one wants to listen. It makes it really hard for me to want to continue friendships with these people and at times it makes it really hard for me to take part in society. I prayed for years they would wake up and see the lies, but it always looks like they just keep prospering. The anger is keeping me captive.<\/p>\n
Any advice?<\/p>\n

I can see people dismissing your views because you once dated this man. They would assume that you are just jealous.<\/p>\n
Sadly, people will only see what they want to believe. “For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness<\/em>” (II Thessalonians 2:11-12). Getting angry about this won’t get them out of this deception.<\/p>\n
You trying to force people to be righteous and it is just an exercise in futility. You can teach, but people must make up their own minds whether they want to listen to the truth or not.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
