Jesus did not have any sin, and it is sin that causes death — spiritually and physically. So how is it that Jesus died on the cross?<\/p>\n\t
It was Adam and Eve’s sin that brought death into the world (Genesis 3:19), but a person does not have to sin in order to physically die. Children are born innocent, yet some die — sometimes even before they are born.<\/p>\n
Spiritual death occurs whenever someone sins. Adam and Eve died spiritually when they sin. We too die spiritually when we sin. “I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin became alive and I died<\/em>” (Romans 7:9).<\/p>\n “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned — for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come<\/em>” (Romans 5:12-14).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\t Thank you.
