At our church, we are in the process of selecting new deacons. Is it wrong for me to think it is a bit ridiculous that two of the people selected miss Church so often? One only goes Sunday morning but skips all the Sunday and Wednesday nights. The other never goes Wednesday night and comes at most once on Sunday and on some Sundays they miss both Sunday morning and Sunday night services. I thought it was already bad enough for someone to miss that many services but it seems really bad if they are going to be a deacon.<\/p>\n\t<h2>Answer:<\/h2>\n<p>A deacon must hold &#8220;<em>to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. These men must also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons if they are beyond reproach<\/em>&#8221; (I Timothy 3:9-10).
