The King James Version says at Matthew 24:45-47, “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.<\/em>“<\/p>\n Who is this talking about? Is this saying that when Jesus returns he will be looking for this one?<\/p>\n\t The verse says “Who then is a<\/strong> faithful and wise servant,” it doesn’t say “the<\/strong> faithful and wise servant; therefore, Jesus is talking about a type of person and not any one particular man or woman. Just as a manager in a company looks for employees who show wisdom and loyalty to the company so that he might promote him to greater responsibilities, so Jesus will be looking for people who are faithful and wise. These people will be given greater responsibility in the life hereafter. Such is also indicated in the parable of the three servants in Matthew 25:14-30. The man who increased the five talents and he who increased the two talents were both told, “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’<\/em>” (Mathew 25:21, 23).
