I am 21 yrs and I can’t stop fornicating, even though it’s against my wish. Sometimes I cry after the act. I hate myself for this. My life is crumbling, and I want repentance. I want to repent of my sins, but any time I try I find myself in the same act. Please, I need your counsel and advice.<\/p>\n

“So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife; whoever touches her shall not be innocent. People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; he may have to give up all the substance of his house. Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding; he who does so destroys his own soul<\/em>” (Proverbs 6:29-32).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
I quoted Solomon’s statement because you aren’t being honest with yourself and that is behind the reason you are not controlling your behavior. When someone steals because he is hungry, people have sympathy for the man. People understand that everyone needs to eat; yet, the thief still has to pay the penalty for his crime. Sympathy doesn’t make his crime any less wrong. Implied, though, is a contrast. There is no sympathy for the man who commits sexual sins, like adultery, because a man doesn’t have to have sex.<\/p>\n
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it<\/em>” (I Corinthians 10:13).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
God makes three promises to everyone.<\/p>\n

- Every temptation to sin that you face is something common. There are millions of people tempted with sex. Some give in and others are able to resist, but it means that what you face is not unique to you. The fact that some are able not to shed their clothes means that the ability to not sin exists, even if you haven’t taken advantage of it.<\/li>\n
- The second promise is that you are never given a temptation to which you can’t say “No.” It may seem difficult, but you do have the ability to resist.<\/li>\n
- The third promise is that there is always a way out of temptation that doesn’t involve sin. It might be hard to see at the time, but it is always there.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
Therefore, the first step out of this sin is to admit that you can give up this sin. What needs to be explored is why you are choosing to sin instead of walking away from it.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
