Dear Minister,<\/p>\n
I need guidance. My former husband, who left me for another woman, is doing well financially. I feel so jealous and I don’t want to feel this way. The feelings of unfairness that she (now his wife) benefits from all the sacrifices that I made for the family. She is reaping what I’ve invested. It feels so unfair! I live in a small house and they live in a large house. I only make 30K a year, but their family makes 100K. We do have one daughter together, but I can’t give my daughter what they could give her. I budget everything and, yes, I do tithe and give an offering. Where is my 100K per year? Where is my large house? Why does she get to benefit from what I planted with my former husband?<\/p>\n

I would suggest reading Psalms 73. “Behold, these are the ungodly, Who are always at ease; They increase in riches. Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, And washed my hands in innocence. For all day long I have been plagued, And chastened every morning. If I had said, “I will speak thus,” Behold, I would have been untrue to the generation of Your children. When I thought how to understand this, It was too painful for me- Until I went into the sanctuary of God; Then I understood their end. Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction. Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors. As a dream when one awakes, So, Lord, when You awake, You shall despise their image<\/em>” (Psalms 73:12-20).<\/p>\n You are allowing your jealousy to distract you from what is really important, which isn’t things. Your husband and his wife are involved in adultery (Luke 16:18). They deserve pity and sorrow because they are willing to throw away eternity for worldly pleasures.
