This might be a dumb question but someone brought it up today at school and it was a little confusing. If premarital sex is a sin, Adam and Eve weren’t married, and they had sex. So is that why we are all born in sin?<\/p>\n\t
Actually, it is a very good question.<\/p>\n
When discussing the duration of a marriage, Jesus quoted what happened when God created Adam and Eve. “And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ “and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? “So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate<\/em>” (Matthew 19:4-6). Therefore, Jesus is saying that Adam and Eve were married. Notice in Genesis 2:24, which Jesus quoted, that there are three steps:<\/p>\n Sex isn’t directly mentioned until after the fall of man in Genesis 3.\u00a0In Genesis 4:1, we read, “Now Adam knew Eve, his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, “I have acquired a man from the LORD.”<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>“<\/p>\n The concept that people are born in sin is a popular myth, one not found in the Scriptures.
